Research Interest: My primary research focuses on the assembly and dynamics of similarly charged polyelectrolytes in aqueous solutions, examining how varying pH levels and degrees of protonation influence their behavior. Specifically, I investigate weak polyelectrolytes like polyethyleneimine, which is highly sensitive to protonation changes. This sensitivity is key to understanding the interactions between similarly charged weak polyelectrolytes. To explore these interactions, I used the umbrella sampling method to calculate the interaction energy between like-charged polymers. The simulations employed both all-atom and coarse-grained models, offering a thorough understanding of polymer behavior under different conditions. Additionally, I studied the interactions of macromolecules with liquid crystals, focusing on how substances such as surfactants or proteins can alter the orientation and order parameters of liquid crystals.
