  • 02 Feb 2024: Prof. Sharma and Prof. Ruchi Anand hosted the ACS Interactions - Empowering Professionals to Advance Science and Shape the Future! at IIT Bombay.

  • 31 Jan 2024: Prof. Sharma was the co-organizer of the workshop on "Small Angle X-Ray Scattering for Colloids, Polymers and Biological Systems," organized by Prof. Suparna Mukherji, Head, CRNTS and SAIF, IIT Bombay.

  • 23 Dec 2023: Congratulations to Dr. Naveen and Harsha for getting publication in Langmuir. In this paper, they developed a method for patterning of protein-sequestered liquid-crystal droplets.

  • 18-20 Dec 2023: Shivalika gave an exciting talk about the Hierarchical self-assembly of like-charged protonated polymeric chains at CompFlu organized by the IIT Madras.

  • 14 Dec 2023: Prof. Sharma hosted the "Symposium on Soft and Biological Materials: Experiments and Theory" at IIT Bombay.

  • 10-13 Dec 2023: Shivalika presented a poster titled Light responsive self-assembled microstructures of Branched PEI chains at the SPSI Macro conference organized by the IIT Guwahati.

  • 6-8 Dec 2023: Harsha presented a poster on the Ultrasensitive detection of proteins at the Aqeous-Liquid Crystal Interface in C3S conference organized by the Department of Chemistry, IIT Bombay.

  • 30th Nov 2023Congratulations to Raj Kumar for his outstanding achievement. His work got a U S patent. The title is "SOLVENT-FREE LIQUID FROM REGENERATED SILK FIBROIN: A WRITEABLE AND SHAPEABLE MATERIAL".

  • 27th Oct 2023: Congratulations to Shivalika Sharma for the best poster award in Thieme - IIT Bombay International Chemistry Symposium 2023.

  • 18th Oct 2023: Congratulations to Dr. Raj Kumar for successfully defending his Ph.D. thesis. His thesis provided significant advancement in understanding in developing new class of regenerated silk fibroin-based liquid materials for 3D printing, utilising ionic liquids for stabilising proteins, and also nanoparticulate-based porous liquids for carbon mineralization.

  • 4th Sep-8th Sep 2023: Harsha presented her work on Liquid Crystal Droplets at the International Soft Matter Conference held in Kyoto,  Japan.

  • 28th Aug-1st Sep 2023: Raju K. Singh attended the International Symposium on Polyelectrolytes, Czech Republic, and presented his work on the Self-assembly of Polyelectrolytes.

  • 28th July 2023: SMRL welcomes Rikna and Pranisha as new Ph.D. group members.

  • 19th June-20th Jun 2023: Raj Kumar attended UK Porous Materials Conference in Sheffield, UK, and presented his work on Porous liquids.

  • 01st July 2023: Prof. Sharma will be a part of a jury member of the prestigious G20 initiative. Link

  • 16th Nov 2022: Polyethyleneimine never ceases to excite: Congratulations to Shivalika Sharma for her first paper to be published in RSC Chemical Communications.

  • 2nd-5th Nov 2022: Rajkumar, Shivalika, and Raju Singh presented posters in the SPSI-Macro 2022. 

  • 20th Sept 2022Congratulations to Shivalika Sharma for her work being presented at the International Soft Matter Conference 2022, Poznan, Poland.

  • 13th Sept 2022: Congratulations on our research work to be published in ACS Chemistry of Materials. The article is to be featured on the main cover page of the journal.

  • 21st July 2022Congratulations to Naveen Kumar PM for successfully defending his PhD thesis on the design and development of nematic liquid-crystal droplet and protein-based studies. He becomes 2nd graduate of the Sharma group. 

  • June 2022: Check out our latest work on the Prevention of amyloid-like aggregation of proteins via polymer bioconjugations: Frontiers in Physics.

  • June 2022: Silk becomes liquid without a solvent  ACS Applied Polymer Materials: A dual polymer layer around silk fibroin protein allows fluidity & retention of native-like random coil secondary structure, thus allowing processability for writing or moulding applications. Congratulations to Raj Kumar for this excellent work.

  • May 2022: Congratulations to the group for publishing a ground-breaking work on the Ultraslow Biological Water-Like Dynamics in Waterless Liquid Protein in The Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters in collaboration with Prof. Anindya Datta's group. It was also featured on the cover page of the journal.

  • November 2021: Our work on Porous liquids has been highlighted in Nature IndiaResearch matters, The Hindu Business Line and at different IITB platforms. This work highlights one of India's responses by proposing porous liquid technologies that can be developed towards restricting carbon emission, the main agenda of COP26 Glasgow meeting.

  • 18th November 2021: Congratulations to Anasua Mukhopadhyay for successfully defending her PhD thesis and becoming the first graduate from the group. 

  • October 2021: Congratulations to Naveen Kumar and Raju Kumar Singh for publishing an article in ACS Langmuir. The article is featured on the cover page of the journal.

  • July 2021: Congratulations to Archita Bhattacharjee and Raj Kumar for getting publication in ChemSusChem. The article has been cited as a Very Important Paper in the field of sustainable materials.

  • The work has been covered in a special video by Wiley noteworthy in the Chemistry Europe scientific magazine.
